SparkShorts is an ongoing series of independent animated short films produced by Pixar in which their employees are given six months and limited budgets to develop films. The shorts have been praised for their mature themes compared to previous Pixar movies, and have provided an opportunity to unlock artists' potential and their inventive filmmaking approaches on a smaller scale.
