if it's got a well-timed needle drop i'm already a fan
This movie is a perfect representation of everything that's wrong with young people, men, the American population, and cinema as a whole. It is a shallow, disgusting, irresponsible descent into hell. It is everything I hate about movies. It is also, albeit unintentionally, kind of a masterpiece. It deserves to be buried in an undiscoverable hole somewhere as much as it deserves to be displayed in a museum.
I never cry in movies. Like literally never. Don't know what it says about me that no movie in my 20 years has ever struck me enough to bring me to tears before, but it says a lot about this movie... because I bawled my eyes out. For reasons too personal to describe, a story has never come to me at exactly the time I needed it like this.
If I were Owen Wilson I'd be mad as hell about some of the stuff the editors said about me in those Instagram Live comments. "What's wrong with his nose?" like come ON.
Actually unironically such a great time! We've desperately needed fun heartfelt studio romcoms with charismatic leads back for a long time, and this totally delivered.
