Knight of Cups was very hard to digest and what I mean is that I had mixed feelings after finishing the movie. So the best thing to do is to let the movie sink in as I try to let my thoughts of the film come together and after thinking about for awhile, this is Terrence Malick weakest film.
I don't know how many times I praised Emmanuel Lubezki for his cinematography and in this movie he shines once again. Every shot and every frame in this movie made me say "Wow". The movie is so magnificently shot that it's like "The Tree of Life" in where I couldn't take my eyes off the screen.
Unfortunately, this is the movie that Terrence Malick goes too full of himself and so may say that he went too full of himself in "Tree of Life", but I think he didn't, at least I had a gasp on whats going and what Malick was going for. There are some unnecessary close ups of random people and a lot mumbling monologues from are character's. I didn't enjoy this one as much but at least it's pretty to look at.
