"You ever dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"
Driven by Anton Furst's gothic production design, Danny Elfman's magnificent score, and the two unforgettable central performances, Tim Burton's Batman is easily one of my favourite superhero films. It's very much of the 1980s (Prince's songs do date the movie, even if they rock), but that's hardly a bad thing. Contemporary audiences may prefer Bale or Batfleck, but I'll always have a soft spot for Michael Keaton's quirky take on the Caped Crusader.
