Matthew Noble’s review published on Letterboxd:
"It's the survival of the human race, Plissken.
Something you don't give a shit about."
Was 4.0, now 4.5.
One of the fastest 99 minutes you'll ever spend. Moody, edgy, and cool as hell. Boasts an ensemble that would make any casting director envious (Lee Van Cleef! Ernest Borgnine! Isaac Hayes! Harry Dean Stanton!), although the film's real coup comes in the form of Snake Plissken, who is easily one of the greatest cinematic antiheroes of the last half-century. Escape From New York may not be my favourite John Carpenter movie, but it definitely contains my favourite Kurt Russell performance.
