Decent short to set up Night of the Trampires and introduce Chuck Steel. All flashy with the whole setting being a standoff. Surprisingly isn't as crude as the full length. I would love to see more Chuck Steel ass kicking.

When the kung fu has exploitation, I couldn't get anymore excited. Arrow Video is blowing me away with this resurgence of martial arts films. Ever seen a vampire-looking kung fu teacher karate chop a man's arm off? You'd thing that'd be the end of the ol boy but set out with revenge, he trains harder and makes his one arm invincible. What ensues is a real treat.

Hearing Iron Maiden's "Flash of the Blade" while seeing a flash of a blade was greatly satisfying.

Standard Argento fanfare to be found here. His incredible scores, beautiful lighting, and that climax was something else. Absolutely wild.

I always wrote this one off because it wasn't horror and I had zero interest in seeing a non-horror Carpenter flick. Luckily I broke down after finding a copy of this mega cheap and ended up loving every second of this goofy cheese fest! There are somehow still plenty of monsters in this kung fu piece possibly even some of Carpenter's best designed.

I do regret doubting the Carpenter, just proves furthermore to never doubt the master of horror.
