Matt’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was fantastic. I mean really good. The last thing I wanted was a bland, reused origin story to introduce new characters into the MCU. That’s a problem marvel has had for more than a decade now. Eternals however, was a brilliant change of pace. This is easily the most philosophical movie (take that lightly, it’s still a family aimed blockbuster) in the MCU. It does a fascinating job of exploring different poignant themes and really difficult questions. What is the morality of an interventionist and a non-interventionist god? What is the cost of humans having free will? Is mortality a better fate than immortality? What role do the Eternals really play in the universe if even they have a master? It’s good stuff. I will certainly revisit this one again. Please give us more of this Marvel.
