Come Play ★★½

This felt like two films rather awkwardly smashed together; one an emotional story about loneliness told vicariously through an autistic child's struggles with the world around him, and the other a beyond silly horror that trades exclusively in the currency of jump scares and hammy acting, though utilizing tech to give a few great early shocks.

If you extrapolate the former and take the more meaningful and interesting tale on its own and try to ignore the daftness of the latter, then you might end up with a half decent flick that still frustrates more than it impresses. Come on Gillian and JGJ, read your scripts, you're both better than this.
