With the insane amount of plot twists and deus ex machina it reads a little like improv yes
and-ing, but like it’s an insane amount of fun and keeps one-uping itself so I got exactly what I wanted out of it.

While I can’t say I love the movie itself, I think this did such a great job at playing with a real “horror” our generation kind of uniquely dealt with, and that’s being a depressed teenager with unmonitored internet access.

I feel like myself and so many of my friends just poured out so many intimate, embarrassing details to strangers online (and speaking from my own experience they sometimes had really shitty intentions). I think this movie kind of captures…

Absolutely perfect pacing. Takes no time to get into its refreshing take on a tired franchise, and doesn’t overstay its welcome in the slightest. The setting was a fantastic way to strip us back to the core of the series, unburdened by boring lore and exposition the Predator is back to just being an unstoppable killing machine who is genuinely scary.

Also that dog deserves a best supporting acting nom at the Oscars

Absolutely insane peek into the horrifying isolation that can come from being surrounded by people, but knowing no one really cares about you.

Mima lives in one of the most densely populated places on earth, but no one intervenes as she cries for help in the streets. She has a sea of adoring fans, and yet every night she goes back to her tiny cupboard apartment alone. Everyone is looking at her in awe during her performances, and yet the…

  • Top Gun: Maverick

    Top Gun: Maverick

Electric, kinetic, cliché, and undeniably awe-inspiring; Maverick delivers some of the most impressive action I've ever seen (granted, unless it's some superhero bullshit, I rarely watch action films). Cruise's performance is one that really makes someone understand how he has managed to stay such a Hollywood darling decade after decade. He gushes with charm and is far better at delivering vulnerability than I expected.

The runtime flies (ha) by, which is good as the thin plot is really more of…
