Matthew Saponar’s review published on Letterboxd:
real fun, funny, detective adventure with some truly hysterical (and pleasantly surprisingly disturbing) moments, but it's really lacking a lot of that punch i expected from shane black for most of its second act. it busts the fucking hinges off the front door, meanders around for a bit, and then explodes through the back. matt bomer is a national treasure and that girl who plays ryan gossling's daughter is going to be a fucking star. even with THE NICE GUYS' minimal flaws, it's still a super fun time at the movies.
