Netflix is a grave for important stuff like this.
Stands the test of time. If I look at how Star Wars or Indiana Jones are valued, this movie is so underrated. Sure, just like in those two, there is some cringey dialogue here too and the claim of a true story can be ignored, but "they don't make 'em like this anymore" is very accurate for this film. There's a serious lack of adventure movies.
The best dinosaur movie since Jurassic Park. Seriously, what is it with the lack of movies about one of the most well-liked topics like...ever. Look at Jurassic World's box office dudes and dudinhas of the writer's guild. Now write something using your brain instead.
Jurassic Park might be the lone high-class dinosaur movie for the next 30 years too, a pity for another generation of kids and fans of the most intriguing creatures we ever knew existed.
