Week 15: Apr. 8-Apr. 14
Film Noir Week
Frankly stupendous in every respect. Killer dialogue; taut and tireless direction; exceptional photography; Robert Ryan is beautiful and tortured and just shits charisma. And with its mere 72-minute run time, this feels like the filmic equivalent of receiving a bolo punch off of Sugar Ray Leonard.
This has likely just displaced The Big Heat in becoming my favourite classic noir.
