One of the best opening scenes I’ve seen in a long time followed by 135 minutes of why “show don’t tell” is something every filmmaker should adhere to.
The direction and performances are grand but can only carry so much weight when the storyline flows and the dialogue is actually good. Also further confirmation that after this and their documentary Sparks’ lyrics aren’t for me.
