Max Siegel’s review published on Letterboxd:
We all know that screenwriting and dialogue aren't Big Jim Cameron's strengths. If the good guys checked their sixes and stopped getting themselves kidnapped, this movie would have been two hours shorter. I'm not exaggerating!
Yet no one else — except possibly Spielberg — knows how to move a camera and shoot action so effectively. And the underwater sequences are dazzling.
Hm what else… I laughed out loud at a couple of unintentionally funny moments:
* A general refers to a mountain range as “the Hallelujah Mountains.”
* A whale says (subtitled): “It’s good to see you. I am happy.”
* One of the kids, upon getting captured again, pouts, “Why does this keep happening to us?!”
