    National Theatre Live: Prima Facie

watching this an hour after thor love and thunder was such a whiplash of moods

i have so many thoughts on this, i haven't been able to stop thinking about it since i watched it 2 days ago, yet nothing i can think of saying describes it right

i have been a fan of jodie comer for many years, first seeing her in BBC miniseries Thirteen, and since watched pretty much all she's been in,and seeing her in Prima Facie…

  • Minions: The Rise of Gru

    Minions: The Rise of Gru

went by myself to pass some time until i met some friends and i must have looked high, just a lone teenager surrounded by kids reallyy intently watching minions fight with michelle yeoh
some kids cried during gru shouting and leaving the minions and i tried not to laugh
    was a funky little time

  • Thor: Love and Thunder

    Thor: Love and Thunder

i had alot of fun with this! though maybe cause i haven't got an an especially close attachment to marvel, i didn't mind the more kid-friendly, romcom genre with this film
idk i just thought it was really sweet and it went quite fast for me, just some cute light entertainment
i am a big fan of taika waititi and the typical conventions of his films were in this, from the focus on kids, his quirky lighthearted kiwi humour, and great…

  • National Theatre Live: Fleabag

    National Theatre Live: Fleabag

still get flashbacks of embrassment from watching this with my mum in the cinema but it was worth it for how much i love it :)
watching it at home by myself this time,i felt a bit more free laughing at the more explicit jokes and i loved seeing the similarities and differences in this script compared to the tv show
i need to watch more live shows <3
phoebe please i need you back on my screen in some way immediately

  • Finding Dory

    Finding Dory

    underrated sequel!
baby dory gives me baby fever and there is so many good new side characters, hank, bailey and destiny <33
watched this again after years with my younger cousin and she was distracted by her games on her phone whilst i was just entranced by the screen nearly crying over dory, my love
    again,such a comfort film now :)

  • Finding Nemo

    Finding Nemo

    makes me so happy :)
my daddy issues sparked up whilst watching crush especially, the best movie dad just chilling my dudes
so many amazing side characters and memorable lines, and definitely was my origin for my love of any films related to the aquatic

genuinely makes me cry like its the cutest shit you need when feeling down

  • A Story of Children and Film

A Story of Children and Film

watched this for class for dissertation prep and actually really enjoyed this.
such a unique layout, almost like a psychological field experiment, with cousins' footage of children guiding his ideas and compilation of film evidence.
i really enjoyed the pace, going from idea to idea in categories, making me curious of many films on this list and i wish to watch many of them soon!
one of the quotes that stuck with me is ''storytelling to her isn't denying the…

  • Elvis

why did they just focus on one gay kid watching elvis' pelvis and then never show him again
ominous baz luhrmann how are you not fruity

  • Linda Linda Linda

    Linda Linda Linda

one of my new favourite films!
gave me the biggest smile for basically the entire runtime like how fucking sweet is female friendship on screen? even better, a female friendship group who are part of a high school rock band!
i was so in love with Bae Doona in this, already loving her as Sun in Sense8, she was perfect for the role.
going to be singing linda linda for days if not weeks now, way too catchy

    such a…

  • The People Under the Stairs

    The People Under the Stairs

one of the most insane films i have ever watched like excuse me??
    absolutely adored it though!
the tone going from dark and uncomfortable to 90s zany horror comedy gave me whiplash but it somehow worked, as it usually does with Wes Craven. Fool was such a charismatic, powerful protagonist and the fact he is a child worked perfectly. I love child protagonists in film, especially horror or drama, and the themes of class, race and exploitation were explored so well through the eyes of a child.
i cant believe I waited so long to watch this, it felt especially fitted to me
    thank you wes! <3

  • Mystery Train

    Mystery Train

went into this thinking the whole film was going to focus on the opening japanese couple, so was slightly disappointed when they were only a third of the film, and they were definitely my favourite act of the three, but the rest definitely had positive moments! i definitely need to check out more Jim Jarmusch as I know he often explores multiple plots tied together by one setting and that device is always interesting even if all the stories aren't…

  • Sunshine

was slightly distracted during this just because i was in a restless mood but i think it was a good film to watch whilst in that mood as it was so action packed and fast paced the entire time, i appreciated that!
the entire cast were so good, i especially loved Cillian Murphy as the quiet but dedicated Capa, and Michelle Yeoh as the passionate but underrated character Corazon, because who isn't enamored by Michelle Yeoh in every role she…
