the tone going from dark and uncomfortable to 90s zany horror comedy gave me whiplash but it somehow worked, as it usually does with Wes Craven. Fool was such a charismatic, powerful protagonist and the fact he is a child worked perfectly. I love child protagonists in film,especially horror or drama, and the themes of class,race and exploitation were explored so well through the eyes of a child.
