Simon Woods’s review published on Letterboxd:
I love me some Hallmark Christmas movies. I watch as many as I can every Christmas season. I have to say, this is one of the best ones. Ever since the Superman Returns debacle, Brandon Routh gives one winning performance after another. In this, he plays a firefighter with commitment issues who is won over, first by Ambrose the cat (which may be the best cat name ever), and then by a veterinarian student with the same kind of commitment issues. It is never too serious, keeps a fun tone throughout, and has just the right amount of hurdles to not be boring. Also, a special shout-out to Gregory Harrison as a paternal fire captain. Anytime you can get such a great performance out of a side character makes a movie like this better than it should be.
