Tenet 2020
I would argue that Nolan is trying to sell audiences on a different way of watching his films, and by draining the story of a more coherent narrative structure, he's encouraging viewers to lean in a little, pay closer attention, and savor the unique joy of a good mindfuck in a way they wouldn't if someone was constantly talking about how much they wanted to save their kids.

Girlfight 2000
A similar film with a less robust treatment would be totally unremarkable. What keeps this one fascinating is Rodriguez, who is lights out incredible. I realized while watching it that I’ve seen a lot of movies with Michelle Rodriguez in them, but I’ve never noticed her before.
