You go to cinema club to meet new people and maybe make a friend or two. Watching a movie you had no intention of watching just comes as an appreciated addition. Sometimes you enjoy the film, often times you find it okay but you never think youd discover your new fav movie.
So it was no doubt, surprising when i left the movie feeling that moved.
It had been more than half a year after my first watch when i…

    Come and See

I cannot even begin to describe this film, it has quite literally, left me speachless. Time stretched and streched hauntingly, leaving me nauseous. The sound editing/ mixing was brilliant. The camerawork was spectacular. I felt the chaos, the hopelessness, the brutality of it all in my bones. I may never recover.

    Taxi Driver

mediocre at best unwatchable at worst.... i really have a hard time understanding what is so great about this film, so much so that i now am convinced that i have watched some other film than everyone else. i liked the score, the editing, the cinematography and the acting. also iris' sunglasses. but thats about it. it felt like the film lost its focus at random times and some scenes dragged on with no purpose. and i wonder what makes this film so revolutionary, when there are dozens of work that are about the same man. "critiquing" society the same way.

didnt really like it? it was exciting to watch utterly, disgustingly unlikeable characters. all the performances were amazing and there were really impressively shot scenes annddd the soundtrack is sick. but i feel like the film failed to deliver the message it intended to deliver. what the film said about society, addiction and relationships were nothing more than edgy high schooler ramblings. also even ewan mcgregor in the tiny shirt can excuse the horrid toilet scene.

words cannot describe how much i adore fleabag. alongside its captivating wit, the way the show flawlessly handles complex topics like grief, friendship, sisterhood, romance just further demonstrates phoebe waller bridges genius. she is just unmatched in every way. for the first time, ive felt seen. it really is a show that is "feminist by nature". i knew the show had to end, i knew it was the perfect finale, but i can't help but long for more time to spend with fleabag (and claire). thank you, phoebe.

this is a beautiful film. not many movies make me want to change the perspective of how i view the world, but this movie did. i can only describe this movies outlook as "tender", and i can only hope that some day i will reach the emotional maturity that would enable me to see life that way. also i was sick when i watched this movie but it really did make me forget about my runny nose and itchy throat. i want to finish this review with my favorite line from the movie "im a cowboy"
