I guess the thing about a stop motion thing like is the fact it calls attention to the technique so much, but that isn't usually diverting enough to sustain interest throughout. I enjoyed the impressive style of this, and thought there was enough meat on the bones of the story to make it work.
Actors of the calibre of Jennifer Jason Leigh and David Thewlis really worked the hell out of it. I especially like Thewlis's rancorous snippets during the speak at the end - he really is the goto man for a top quality bile-filled diatribe. Which is making it all the more disconcerting to hear him currently doing Halfords ads.
