This is actually my first time seeing this film and I'm glad to say I love it. It's simple, but emotional and well directed. Something that stood out to me was how no adult's face (other than the mom's) was shown in the movie until the last act. I guess this could be about how as people grow older they don't have that childlike innocence and imagination, etc., which E.T. is all about. This movie is pure movie magic, and I heard it gets better as you get older. Another iconic film from none other than Spielberg himself.
