Probably my least favorite Cohen brothers film that I have seen to date due to the overall blandness of stakes and emotions (aside from Josh Brolin at any given confessional), but still a very enjoyable and wacky time (@ScarJo jumping not having it as a mermaid, Channing Tatum dancing and singing his communist heart out and the charming western movie star lassoing his spaghetti).
It was quite fun to see the various genres play out in the editing booth and sound stages but I was most interested in how Josh Brolin’s character was managing the madness and, frankly, wanted more of that and an overall darker comedic edge to this ski-irreverent take on 50s Hollywood.
