Can I just say I feel like I don’t see characters’ dialogues intercepting and interrupting one another ENOUGH in film. Cutting into someone else’s sentence halfway through is such a normal thing but when I notice this happening constantly in the film I was actually surprised??? The acting was great, like you can actually see each character processing, feeling, and reacting to things... just some thoughts.
I came out of the theatre looking like I was the one getting a divorce. Noah Baumbach’s realist screenplay is just so intricately crafted, Charlie and Nicole felt like actual people. Saw it in 35mm in a theatre built in 1913, and it was the most mind blowing experience. Tarantino knows he can direct and write effortlessly, and this was nothing short of cinema perfection!! There is so much dialogue and content to sink your teeth into, the cast is amazing, the soundtrack is flawless... I cannot wait to see the film again.
