stargirl in the book: *brings a literal curtain and vase to decorate her desk at school, wears full-on floor-length victorian skirts and flapper dresses and buckskins and kimonos, actually stalks people, puts valentines and halloween candies on her classmates’ desks, shows up at strangers’ funerals, gives leo a card that says “i love you” after having ONE conversation with him, flirts like there’s no tomorrow*

wanna put my thoughts down here before i watch the movie, just for comparison of how i feel afterwards — but tom holland and daisy ridley.... should not have been casted in this. nothing against them at all; i’m fairly confident that they will do just fine performance-wise. but todd and viola are just barely 14-year-olds in the book, and that’s a VERY significant detail when it comes to telling a story like chaos walking. throughout the entire series, probably…
