The directors cut for Midsommar somehow made me fall in deeper love with this film. While it did feel longer
It still did not feel like a whole fuckin 3 hours to me. And I feel like there was so much more rich character interactions between the crew, and more setup to things that in the theatrical release was just implied.
Now that I’ve seen this cut
I definitely feel like this is the definitive version.
Don’t go in expecting more violence or horror but just the subtleties and nuances that drive Christian and Dani, as well as some nice extra scenes with the cult.
I can’t stretch enough how much I throughly love everything about this movie. And there’s so many things to pick up on. I’ve seen it 4 times and I have not gotten bored with each watch, not even a little bit.
You get to see Christian be an even bigger piece of shit than you initially gave them credit for
