My mother is obsessed with the 1970s in the way that I am obsessed with the 1990s. It's a nice symmetry. I feel so lucky that my mother showed us "Grease" over and over again in our childhood. I don't know many movies before the 1980s. I don't know many of the famous classic musicals that everyone raves about and references. But I know "Grease"! And we love "Grease"!

The thing is, "Grease" is a movie and a musical -…

    Being John Malkovich

I totally forgot that the last half of this movie is so good. I think that I've been watching the first half of this movie a few times over and over again since 1999 trying to get back into it. But I simply don't love that first half. I think that I did in 1999, especially Catherine Keener, but I got over it. It's just so dark (literally), so dismal, so sad. And it is about cruel people.

    It is…

Dull, Dull, Dull. Much more dull than the movie they ripped off, Raising Helen.

I think that Anna Chlumsky is sooooooo cute though. Many people in my generation just adore her because of My Girl.

This is free on YouTube but honestly, I wouldn't say it's worth your time.

The most shocking thing that happened was I looked up Kate Hudson and John Corbett's age difference (because of "Raising Helen") and it's 18 years. LOL. Hollywood!

    The title of this…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This review is stream of consciousness.

The way that people act in this movie. Tom Cruise's character. Is this supposed to be Spielberg's idea of Jersey Toughness? Swearing at your kids? I wrote here "I would have run away (Alien) and never ever looked back." (I have no idea what I meant here. Am I talking about the kids running away to the aliens, or the aliens running away from Tom Cruise's character?)

These people all just stand there after…

I liked this better than I had expected to, based on its trailer, which I found really corny!

    It was cute!

Rachael Leigh Cook was so cute. At first I was rolling my eyes at Rachael playing that typical nerdy character that she always plays, but then I thought, maybe Rachael is just like that? LOL. And they gave her this overly quirky car that I think can play only one song, ugh, which just happened on the show "Stumptown".…

    Groundhog Day

My local theatre showed "Groundhog Day" on the big screen, so I went to go see it, even though I own it on DVD. I'm really glad that I did. I hadn't seen it in a really long time. I always dread seeing it, because I feel like it's going to be painful. (Not because of the quality of the movie, but because of Phil's journey.) Which it is. And yet.

There was a lot of laugh out loud moments…
