wicked concept for a short but it did not work for a feature film. saying that it dragged would be an understatement.

I WAS SO TENSE THE ENTIRE TIME OMG AND THAT LAST SCENE IS ACTUALLY TERRIFYING

to what extent can you be free? a melancholy & somber film. her essence captured by everyone, but never her. the words of strangers rush from their mouths and cloud w their ignorance of human depth and complexity.

“i know, i don’t have the right look” 

w so many people, so many voices, so many opinions, so many thoughts on one single fleeting girl. and to see her, on screen, as she is- we form our own thoughts and perceive her in our own way. this is great film making.

editing and cinematography are the only aspects i actually enjoyed. the style is one-of-a-kind: truly amazing. everything else felt ~meh~ 

the story line was a bit strange and most of the times didn't give explanations to what was going on (?) or why they did what they did. all the characters involved seemed to lack a greater depth and were only slightly interesting bc of their shared pain due to impermanence. cool concept- explored: decently (?)

it’s been days since i started this movie, i paused many times (and watched other movies in between) bc i was v disturbed.

looks at my sister & her food she hasn’t touched:
“i’m not wasting my food on this” *checks runtime*

so so manipulative. even my 12yo sister knew this was insensitive... this kinda of exploitation of emotions reminds me of that god-awful movie w robert pattinson where makers didn’t know how to end it so they plainly said he died in 9/11 to get the audience to feel something. exploiting tragedies: how low can u get?

recently added to netflix, did it for the nostalgia. more uncomfortable than i remember. funny but like,,, almost incest (???) 
she growled at her dad,, & attempted role play??? nooooo 
do you think they broke the news to her? how do you continue to live normally after that?

this resulted in my sister and i imitating julia child’s accent for literally everything afterwards
