Melissa McDowell’s review published on Letterboxd :
I love Julie Taymor. I love all the moving set pieces she created to capture movement in various scenes - moving floor sections, a revolving round stage with hospital beds that rise up to 90 degrees, giant wooden puppets... And then the choreography of each scene - the concerted movements of actors, camera, props and set pieces... The effort and construction she puts in to get exactly what she wants on film is astonishing and so inspirational. I wish I had this kind of clarity of vision in any part of my life.
The technical genius, the rich and layered aesthetic, the Beatles music, and the ever charming Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood and Joe Anderson make me love this movie so much and forgive any flaws.
