Melissa McDowell’s review published on Letterboxd :
I think it’s important to bear in mind that this film was made by Chris’ cousin. This is more about her attempts to find a story about him that she can accept and hold on to and have closure with than a deep dive into Chris’ actions and motivations. Did he join a militia simply to write a book, to get a story, or was there a real ideological affinity there? We will never really know the answer to this question. But the film sparks a conversation about war reporters and whether neutrality is possible. I found the animated sequences quite compelling and beautifully drawn as well.
