Melissa McDowell’s review published on Letterboxd :
Is this film a commentary on why we might not want to be the obedient, kind, selfless sort of good person that Lazzaro is? Because that is my slightly cynical take away. Is ignorance happiness? And if so, is happiness really all that desirable?
In any case, this is a charming and often funny film, a mixture of Italian neorealism and magical realism. Very beautifully shot to boot.
