Melissa McDowell’s review published on Letterboxd :
Ezban’s first English language film and the first film he’s directed from a screenplay written by someone else. Cool concept and the ending is great (as Ezban explained: it was supposed to have a happy, neat ending, but sci-fi “doesn’t deserve happy endings!”) For me, this wasn’t quite as strong as his first two films, The Incident and The Similars - but both of those absolutely blew my mind. Parallel is still a really solid and engrossing film. I’m an Ezban fan. So long as he keeps making films, I’m going to keep watching them. He’s one of the best genre filmmakers working that manages to reference other works without ever being derivative - all of his films offer up something fresh and interesting.
