I love Mathieu Kassovitz. A bit of an unconventional take on the sports drama - centers on a long time middleweight boxer who isn’t a superstar or an underdog who finally catches a break. He’s just a middling boxer at the end of his career, trying to do well by his family. At the end of the film, they put up stats on some real boxers with long careers but low win records - a shout out to the athletes who love the sport, even if it doesn’t seem to love them back.
