Outside was 38 degrees. Inside the movie theater about 30 degrees. So I was completely wet and hot during the two and a half hours of this film. But it did add an extra element to a film called Midsommar.
Very impressive, especially the camera and editing. Florence Pugh is amazing and again, Ari Aster's directing and writing is very good. The films still has to 'land' in my head, but it's already a favorite of mine. Aster is one of my favorite filmmakers, on the same level as pioneers David Robert Mitchell, Richard Kelly and Robert Eggers.

Best show I've seen since a long time.
Everything about these five episodes is incredible. And so important.

Rewatch. With 9-year old. He loved it, especially the sword fighting. Me too. Again.

  • The Golden Glove

    The Golden Glove

    ★★★★½

Amazing rough film. It's very brutal, very real (based on a true event), very nasty to see. And at the same time clumsy funny and sad. It captures the sadness of the people of Hamburg in the seventies amazingly. The booze, the hopelessness, the smützigkeit (the dirty rusty brown houses, streets and of course the cafe The Golden Glove. Brilliant film. Go and see, but mind: it's not for everyone.

Holy cow, this is an amazing movie. So original even though it lends elements from films like Blade Runner, Videodrome, Robocop and Black Mirror episodes. The writer of Saw wrote another brilliant script and directed it with as much brilliance. The acting is very good as well, as well as the cinematography and editing. But what stands out is the story. Amazing.
The scene where STEM took over during the first fight left me with my jaw on the floor. Wasn't expecting that! Masterpiece!
Octorror film #14 (although it's not a horror, well some elements still are)

    This did not disapoint.

If you like the art of film, if you like good storywriting and amazing acting by especially Toni Collette: see this film.

Hereditary is an instant horror classic. Creepy as hell, disturbing, nasty and it looks amazing!

    Wow.

  • Schindler's List

    Schindler's List

Saw it for the third time today, on the 4th of may, the day we remember those who fell during the war in The Netherlands. This film is so beautiful in every way. The music, the direction, the acting but above all the cinematography by Janusz Kaminski. Every frame a painting.

  • Annihilation

A-ma-zing film. This is what film should be. It lets you think. It opens discourses. It's not straight forward and explanatory. Besides that the film looks amazing and keeps surprising you with each scene. Great cast, great music (especially in the third act). I love it and I think I know what it tries to say :)
