I'm not sure yet if I liked it, but it IS an important film. One of the few works that take the variety of digital formats seriously while not succumbing to one of the "contemporary" memes that already have become stereotypes (Vaporwave, Hyperpop aesthetic, Online Erotica, Creepy Pasta, Oneothrix Point Never et al.). It is a film about externalization of mind into the digital sphere and the mostly disastrous feedback loops that result from this process while also not being alarmist about it and understanding it as what it is; the normal state of affairs for most - especially young - people in the western hemisphere and beyond. It also knows things about the ubiquity of the paranormal online. Solid facts of daily life blur under the influence of digitally enchanced mythomania and give birth to anomalies that threaten to devour us as their collective authors.
