Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2018
What's there to say about Into the Spiderverse that hasn't already been said? I watched this once before three or so years ago but I must have been half asleep that day as none of it really stuck with it. I'm very glad I decided to rewatch it as it was basically like watching it for the first time.
Insanely good animation, good jokes, emotional beats, excellent pacing, interesting plotline, character development, this movie has it all. Not only is…

Dumb Money 2023
Such an easy to watch, fun film. Made me laugh way more than expected, really embraced the whole trend and meme aspect of WallStreetBets and the whole situation which surprised me but worked really well.
If anything, I wouldn't mind if this had another 20 or so minutes, just to be able to dig into some aspects of it more since it has to sort of gloss over parts to make the runtime. Probably a slightly inflated score than the…

The Creator 2023
Visually stunning with excellent real world locations and prop design, backed up with chair shaking audio, The Creator gets a lot right, but unfortunately the mediocre writing, obvious plot beats, and mixed bag of performances holds it back from achieving greatness.
I've never been particularly sold on JDW and this film didn't do much to change that. There is a stretch in the middle of about an hour where he stops being brooding and mopey and it's genuinely when he's…

Shortcomings 2023
Very interesting directorial debut from Randall Park, shortcomings is an atypical rom-com featuring probably the least forced ending and the most problematic lead that somehow never becomes truly unlikeable I've recently seen.
Definitely more com than rom, it's a refreshing take on the genre as it's more about the characters than any romance plot. Justin Min as Ben tells us in the opening minutes how he's a flawed character unlike the characters in the movie his girlfriend produced, and then…

Who Framed Roger Rabbit 1988
Enjoyed this more than I expected, I know it has a bit of a cult following these days but I figured I would be outside the demographic but it was actually pretty funny and not the worst detective plot I've ever seen. Like I was pretty surprised it's main twist was actually a double feature twist, even if I managed to predict everything else, I didn't predict that.
Also, must have been a weird time to be a kid in…
