Metin Seven’s review published on Letterboxd :
El Bar is an odd, original combination of two opposites: a farce and a thriller. The first half is a fairly hysterical droll story with lots of loud Spanish conversations, which started to get on my nerves. But still the film fascinated me enough to continue watching it, while the plot gradually turned into a reasonably tense thriller towards the end, with claustrophobic sewer scenes that reminded me of The Third Man.
Of course, watching Blanca Suárez in lingerie for at least 20 minutes of the film already made El Bar worth watching, 😜 and I think the final scenes in the crowded city streets were brilliant.
