Toho’s colorful sets and lighting are glimpses into a world I can’t get enough of.
There was a lot of “old people laughter” at my screening. I really hope they weren’t laughing at her completely in a condescending way. I laughed a little too but I connected with this on a more personal level than I expected. A deeply and brutally honest character study that some people just won’t relate to but I hope those that can feel much love from it. As complicated but as all encompassing as the love for one’s flawed self can be.
Saw this seated right behind a guy who was clearly tripping. Can only deduce this from his heavy breathing througout, his exit halfway through the film, and his reply of “high on what?” when our presenter asked how many people in the audience were high. Ah yes, the special communial experience that comes with midnight screenings.
