The Batman 2022
In an age where almost every major cinematic release is a superhero blockbuster, a small number of creatives seem to be trying to do everything in their power to not succumb to the tropes that now define the genre. Thankfully, studios are actually beginning to see the importance of merging the worlds of cinema and the superhero genre, and are trusting directors to transform their IP’s into masterpieces that resonate not only as beloved narratives, but as cinema. C'mon C'mon 2021
This was one of the most beautiful films I have seen in a while. Jurassic World Dominion 2022
paid for dinosaurs, got locusts. ???
They essentially shot themselves in the foot. By making a disaster/monster film where the disaster/monsters have been normalised and are now commonplace in society — they have taken away the disaster/monster element. So now it’s kind of just a mixed bag of huh??
only things I am taking away from this film are:
- the really nicely helmed Bryce Dallas Howard forest scene
- the cg around the dinosaurs in general
- Jeff Goldblum

The calibre of these performances was seriously something else. And the scenes they had together were mesmerising.
The cinematography was masterful to say the least. The lighting in this film was insane. I just could not believe how perfectly crafted some of the frames in…

The Last Duel 2021
A brutal, honest, tragic and heartbreaking look at society and the place women had in it.
The performances in this film exceeded all of my expectations. Ben Affleck had far too much fun with this role, and Driver and Damon gave some truly impressive performances. However, Jodie Comer stole this film - without a question. Her performance was flawless. I think she should be nominated for this film - I was truly mesmerised and captivated every time she was on…
