Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood ★★★★★

Spectacular. Just spectacular! QT’s new masterpiece is one of the best movies of not just the year but the decade. The writing, dialogue, music, story, humor & cinematography are perfect.

The performances obviously as well especially from DiCaprio & Pitt, both deliver some of their very best work of their career. Robbie while she doesn’t get much screentime or dialogue as Sharon Tate, she’s a delight as always & gives her everything with little she has to work with. That scene at the movie theater is some of the best pure acting of her wondrous career and IMO, of this year as well.

Qualley is the MVP, though as the hippie “Pussycat”, a member of the Manson family. She absolutely kills it here with her natural beautiful looks, smile & relaxed & upbeat attitude just like her mother (Andie MacDowell). When you see her, you see a spitting image of her mother but with better acting skills.

I’ve been a fan of Margaret’s for a while since her debut in “Palo Alto” back in 13’ & it’s great to see her breaking out this year. She has a bright future ahead of her and I cannot wait to see more of her. I always say this when I conclude my thoughts on her latest role, PLEASE check her out in “Novitiate”, that’s THE breakthrough role that I think filmmakers saw & were impressed by with her and responsible for her finally getting her shots this year!

Alright, I dragged this review enough with Margaret Qualley, I apologize for that lol. Back to the movie, the cameos as well, I loved everybody. Yeah. I don’t have much else to say about QT delivering another masterpiece. It’s definitely a love letter to the 60s. It’s QT at his most restrained (think along the lines of JACKiE BROWN) & it’s his funniest since both THE HATEFUL EIGHT & PULP FICTION). Go see it, it’s that good.

Oh and the last 15 minutes along are some of the most insane & satisfying things you’ll see this year!
