none of it matters to anyone else, grief while containing suffering and oppression, is collective and forces self-realisation that these people will not be here forever, you will not be here forever. you must put other people first, take some joy from others successes.
really nice film, shot with dwanyes breakdown was apparent, dwayne is large and taking over the camera at the bottom of his hill, but his family is above him and smaller, some really nice touches here
I've heard what people have said about this film, the handheld camera, blurred shots, coloured visuals, speech in French and English. I feel like all of this is of course subjective, that's a core part of what cinema is, the literal definition of subjectivity. the switching of languages is something I understand, why would they keep changing it? Because its art, call me pretentious all you like but its my understanding, when foreign letters leave speaking mouths it is art.…
