I was recently introduced to the word “holokitch” — but a somewhat abstract take on the Holocaust, with his theatre background, should be expected by Glazer. As a study, I’d never really seen anything from the German perspective like this in art. If the point was to show the atrocities of the event, both overt and subversively, then it has accomplished both.
I kind of laughed at Nolan after Tenet, a film that famously makes no sense. But I do like his work overall. Thinking back to 2006's The Prestige is really the type of film I think he excels the best. Nolan is certainly a magician himself, and the story here is quite dense.
