Michael Sy A Foek’s review published on Letterboxd:
Re-watch. This one didn't hold up that well to a repeat viewing. The problems I had with it before stood out more this time around. I found the build up too slow, and once Bryan Cranston is out of the picture, the film losing its appeal. Johnson tries, but for me he is just not leading man material. Godzilla's scenes were also disappointing this second time. They totally blew his epic introduction (or first look) during the battle in Hawaii by having it take place on a television screen. Also, the somewhat uninspiring designs of the monsters kind of bugged me. So, a somewhat disappointing viewing.
