The way I couldn’t get to Amazon fast enough seconds after the credits rolled to buy the 4K set of this. I watched this on a computer and I can’t WAIT to see this in 4K on my TV because THIS IS EVERYTHING I WANT FROM A MOVIE.

Visual storytelling. VISUAL STORYTELLING. This movie is gorgeous. The colors. I think Dario Argento invented color. I just want to live in a world where the nights are bathed in deep blues and reds. I want to live in a world where the music is scored by Goblin. This world is super unsettling but also manages to be super comfortable at the same time?! HOW?!

The movie put me in a haze for real. It’s very hypnotic. The plot itself isn’t the craziest thing here, but it’s the execution of every single element that just blew me away. The tone, the mood, the aesthetic, the music, the colors, THE PRODUCTION DESIGN - it just sucks you in, grabs you by the shirt collar, and whips you around.

This definitely enters the ranks as one of my favorite horror films of all time. It might not be the scariest, but it’s deeply unsettling. There are so many shots from this movie that just put me in such a state of mind. I don’t even know how to talk about this movie in any professional manner. It’s such a feeling. This movie casts a spell over you.

Shoutout to the homie Matt for recommending this!! You may have just introduced me to the wonderful world of Giallo!
