Aren't the opposite of ill people simply the ones who are, well, healthy? That's why Elijah's theory annoys me, that's why the twist is stupid and, once again, unnecessary. Fortunately the story and performances are very strong, it's also fascinating that this movie was released the same year as the first X-Men. If something like this was released today, we would have praise it for being a deconstructive antidote for all those CGI-heavy superhero blockbusters.

It's a real shame that The Sixth Sense is remembered mostly for its unnecessary, stupid twist (it should have been clear from the start that Malcolm is a ghost, although it's not that hard to figure it out; the opening scene is pretty much a spoiler) and not for how atmospheric, well directed and acted piece of film it is. I admire the subtlety of Willis' and Williams' performances, but the real stars here are brilliant Haley Joel Osment and Toni Collette. Their final scene in the car is fantastic.

🤮 Of course the stewardess smiled after Massimo forced himself on her and fucked her throat, that's what every obedient woman does after someone has used her head to masturbate, right?

🤮 That sequence right after the "5 years later" - the way his and her scenes are intercutted together is laughably bad and who the fuck shot this crap? In shots of him camera moves from left to right, and in shots of her -…

I'm just like the writer and director of this movie: I have no fucking idea what it suppose to be. It's a mess full of underwritten storylines and ideas, horribly shot (what's with those awful, obviously done in post zooms and pans!?) and edited fight scenes, and actually pretty good Chastain. She deserves better.
