Warren Gilbert’s review published on Letterboxd:
Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are going to fail history unless they absolutely ace their oral history report, which is highly unlikely until George Carlin shows up in a time travelling phone booth. As they visit different times they take someone back with them each time for the project such as Billy the Kid from the Old West, Socrates from ancient Greece, King Henry from medieval times, and Sigmund Freud from Vienna, Austria. They even find Ghenhis Khan portrayed by Al Leong!! There are some decent laughs, lots of different locations, and it's a pretty fun time despite feeling a little long and kinda a one joke movie. Nothing amazing here, but worthwhile if only to see Keanu Reeves showing more emotion and personality here than all of his other roles combined.
