Warren Gilbert’s review published on Letterboxd:
An infection has hit Australia and is turning people into gas breathing zombies and it's up to a man and his newfound friend to get to where his sister is to bring her to safety. The story basically follows him as he joins up with some armoured masked men and her as she is experimented on by some scientist. It doesn't all flow in order and can be confusing at times.
Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead doesn't reinvent the zombie sub-genre, but it does enough interesting new things, such as using zombie breath as fuel and the ability to communicate with the dead, to keep things fresh. The intentionally washed out visuals and garbage camerawork with shaky cam and out of focus shots is disappointing, but the zombie action is still decent and fairly exciting. This isn't some kind of new classic, but if you are a zombie movie fan this is probably one of the better ones from the last several years.
