Migo Buenafe’s review published on Letterboxd:
i love music. i can even make a case that i love music more than i love movies. in this case, this movie really affected me as i was imagining if i was in the shoes of the character. music was his life and now he has to get accustomed to a world in silence. personally, if i were to keep one thing from my body it would be my ears just so i could listen to music. riz ahmed surprised me, as well as paul raci who is a real life deaf. the sound design was superb and we really felt we were in ruben’s point of view. the scenes after the implant were heartbreaking and you could really sympathize with the character. the ending was so subtle but amazing, this movie deserves some oscars noms.
