Some of Spike Lee's films are a bit hit and miss, but BlackkKlansman is definitely in the hit area. It tells the outrageous true story of how two policemen in Colorado, one black (John David Washington) and one white (Adam Driver) infiltrate the Klu Klux Klan in the late 1970's. Lee's screenplay is excellent; very funny in the right places and very shocking in the right places. He deserved his Oscar. Even though this is a film about horrible racists BlackkKlansman manages to hit the right notes and be both entertaining and powerful.
