The most adept, inspired exploitation movie I've seen. The premise is catchy and primal--brilliant, even. Ferrara honours the Hitchcock tradition with a combination of suspense and visual dynamism that I haven't seen elsewhere in his work. The classic American displacement of sex in favour of slaughter is given a rare treatment, with macho fantasies--chicks and guns--turned against the men. Great murder scenes.
