Awful, boring, borderline irredeemable movie until the dog actually starts dying.
Yes, I cried. It’s a dog dying. It’s impossible not to cry.
Nightcrawler is a brilliantly tense and morally disgusting film with a sharply written screenplay and an Oscar worthy performance from Jake Gyllenhaal. Nightcrawler exposes every immoral and unethical decision that could be, and have been, made in the field of journalism. It's a dark and unnerving study of a mentally and socially unstable human being and his descent into villainy as he becomes more and more detached from human compassion due to his unhealthy obsession. It's a slick, depraved, and riveting thriller that will (hopefully) leave you repulsed by it's main character.
