Mike’s review published on Letterboxd :
Cabaret, Grease, and All That Jazz are better films, but Tommy is probably the quintessential 70's musical: crazy, dirty, extravagant, and lots of shirts off. Was better than I was expecting to be honest, as the music is quite catchy and has a fairly impressive range of styles considering who wrote it. The story is more of a vehicle for the song set-pieces than any meaningful arc, but it does chart at least something of a journey for young Tommy that ultimately had me comparing it to Life of Brian more than I was expecting. An enjoyable, if at times bizarre, musical.
